By July 1, 2021 owners of R-2 occupancy buildings with 3 residential units or more with existing fire alarms are required to upgrade their fire alarms to meet a “pillow test.” Meaning, the central fire alarm system must be loud enough for all residents to hear it from their bedroom. This new requirement would also be triggered if you were to pull a permit to do work valued at $50,000 or more. Thus, some building owners must upgrade their fire alarm systems when renovating units
Have to test and inspect fire alarm systems regularly. make it easier to stay code-compliant, fix issues, and keep your fire detection system ready for emergencies. Our Team will help you protect people and your property while exceeding your requirements. We test and monitor fire detection systems so you have one less thing to worry about.
Additionally, we’ll work aggressively with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to negotiate the minimum system requirements to meet building standards to get the most cost savings for our end users. We’ll handle the compliant programming, installation, and testing of your system once it’s in place. If issues arise, we tackle them head-on by going direct to the manufacturer for product support, which prevents downtime and saves you money. And best of all, you can expect results quickly!
